Ahora mismo estoy escribiendo desde el aeropuerto de Tromso, penultima etapa antes de llegar a Longyearbyen. El tiempo es muy soleado, incluso caluroso.
Queda la duda de como estara el tiempo en Svalbard. El año pasado tambien habia muy buen tiempo aqui, pero habia niebla en nuestro destino y no se podia aterrizar. Veremos a ver.
Ayer deje Madrid con 40ºC y creo que llegaré a Svalbard con 4º. No esta mal!.
Al final no hubo problemas y aterrizamos en Longyearbyen tras atravesar la capa de nubes que la cubria. Pocos cambios respecto al año pasado. En el aeropuerto nos esperaba Liane Benning y Juan Diego Rodriguez (otro español!) que esta haciendo una Marie Curie en la Universidad de Leeds. Resulta ademas que trabajo con nosotros mientras hacia la tesis, el mundo es realmente un pañuelo. El es ademas el Blogger oficial de la expedición, se puede seguir sus post aqui.

Nos hospedamos en el Radisson Guest House que nos cede ademas una sala para nuestras reuniones.
Tras dejar el equipaje, una pequeña vuelta por las tiendas locales para echar un ojo pensando en la vuelta!.

Prohibido entrar con rifles o armas de fuego.
Lo normal en cualquier tienda.
Las casas son de colores vivos para encontrarlas facilmente con la nieve. De madera y elevadas del suelo ya que en invierno el suelo se hiela y congela las tuberias mas que si quedan al aire.
A las 19 a cenar y despues un poco mas de trabajo aprovechando el internet ya que no se sabe cuando volveremos a tener conexión.
Right now I'm writing from Tromso Airport, last step to arrive in Longyearbyen. The weather is sunny and a little bit hot.
I have doubts about the weather in Svalbard. Last year the weather here was fine but there was closed fog in our destiny and we could not land. Let's see. Yesterday I left Madrid with 40ºC and I think I will find 4º in Svalbard. Not bad!
At last no troubles and we landed safety in Longyear through the cloud layer covering it. Not many changes from last year. In the airport were waiting for us Liane Benning and Juan Diego Rodriguez (other spaniard!) who is working in Leed University by a Marie Curie contract. Also, he worked with us while he was doing his Ph. This is a smal world. He is also the official blogger of the expedition and his post can be finded here.
The weather is almost gray. We are hosted in the Radisson Guest House that aslo let us use a room for our meetings. Left my baggage in the room, a short walk at the local shops to take a look for future presents.
At 19:00 dinner time and later a little bit more work to use the internet while be avalible.
